Arvin Hart MR 10-8

The Arvin Hart Fire Company in Stillwater has taken delivery of a new air boat, MR 10-8. The craft was manufactured by American Air Boats of Orange, Texas. The 18’ Air Ranger is powered by an 550HP marine engine. The boat can carry two rescuers and an operator and is equipped with a hoist that can lift a loaded stokes basket out of the water as well as high intensity discharge and LED scene lighting. Communications on the boat is via three voice activated head sets and is equipped with both marine and 800Mhz radios. Arvin Hart has operated some type of water rescue craft for over 30 years, and this is by far the most substantial platform to date being designed to withstand the rigors of travel over ice as well as any other surface. The members are currently training with the air boat before it is placed in service. The unit is towed by a support unit and will be housed at Station 2 on George Thompson Road. Arvin Hart works with Round Lake, Malta Ridge and Quaker Springs for water rescue and covers Saratoga Lake, Round Lake, the Hudson River and the Hoosic River.

Arvin Hart R10-3

The Stillwater Fire District/Arvin Hart Fire-Rescue has taken delivery of a 2013 KME heavy rescue vehicle.

The unit is powered by a Cummins ISL 450hp with an Allison 3000EVS automatic transmission and equipped with On-Spot automatic tire chains. The XLFD cab seats 8 firefighters with air packs and is equipped with a command desk and ample cab compartments under a 22” raised roof. The unit features a 30KW Onan PTO generator which powers a Command Lite dual head light tower, a Bauer breathing air compressor and dual fill station can provide a continuous breathing air supply for any size breathing air cylinder, and carries 19 spare SCBA cylinders. The unit carries two portable multi gas meters and has an on board Hurst electric rescue tool pump which is able to operate three rescue tools simultaneously, a complete set of Paratech rescue struts, nine air bags, a set of mini Hurst rescue tools including a Rabbit tool, in addition to three full size Hurst spreaders, two cutters and two rescue rams, plus a compliment of cribbing.

West Crescent Fire Dept: This is an 2011 dodge 5500 with 5 member capacity. It carries their jaws, EMS equipment, cold water rescue, low angle rescue and has a 20 gallons CAFS unit for fire suppression.
